Traveling via Colorado’s Largest Airport is About to Get Faster

If you've traveled via Colorado's largest airport, Denver International Airport or DIA, you're probably familiar with the train ride that takes you to and from your concourse.

Speeding through the underground tunnel and watching the art installations speed past while heeding instructions from the deep voice of Colorado celebrity Alan Roach is probably one of the least stressful things about flying into or out of DIA.

Now, the airport is working on making the train ride even more efficient in hopes of making the entire experience better for everyone.

Colorado's Largest Airport is Getting New and Faster Trains

Denver International Airport first opened its doors nearly 30 years ago, and it may come as a surprise to find out that some of the trains that transport passengers to and from concourses are just as old.

However, it was just announced that the airport has received a fleet of new train cars that it plans to implement as early as this coming summer.

The trains are bigger, faster, and because of the materials used to construct them, 30% more energy efficient than the older trains that are currently operating.

Because of this, it's estimated that replacing the old trains with these more modern cars will transport over 800 more people between concourses each hour.

In fact, the train cars are so state-of-the-art that DIA's implementation will see these trains being introduced to North America for the first time ever.

It's no secret that flying can be extremely stressful, but hopefully, this change will make it a lot less painful to fly out of DIA beginning this summer.
