A section of Clifton has been targeted for some free fall clean up.

Again this year, some Clifton residents will be the recipients of a free clean-up day to help them get rid of unwanted trash and debris. The designated clean up area is between 32 Road and 33 Road from D Road to F Road.

Here's how it works. You simply put your trash and unwanted items at the curb before 7:00 Monday morning on November 2. Clean up crews will be sweeping the neighborhood on Monday to load up the trash and haul it off - at no cost to you.

As with any community cleanup project, there are some types of waste that aren't accepted. Here is a list of some of the things that will not be accepted.

* Hazardous Waste including paint, oil, and anti-freeze
* Electronics such as computers, TVs, and printers
* Vehicle or equipment tires
* Mattresses or box springs
* Freezes, refrigerators, and AC units.

Here are some examples of waste that will be accepted for this clieanup.

* General household trash
* Green waste/ yard debris
* Furniture ( except mattress and box springs)
* Construction materials

This is a good time to go through the garage or your shed and get rid of some stuff that has just been lying dormant for years. It's also the perfect time to get some junk out of the yard and get the neighborhood looking good. That would sure make the neighbors happier.

Trash needs to be piled in the street but not impeding traffic and should be at least 3 feet from fences, telephone poles, landscaping, and vehicles. Loose debris and trash should be bagged or boxed, but don't put it in any containers you want to keep. All trash containers will be removed along with all the trash.

You can get more information about Monday's cleanup from Healthy Mesa County.
