CBI Releases List of Nearly 600 Coloradans Who’ve Been Missing Over One Year
The Colorado Bureau of Investigations put out a sad list of names on Colorado Missing Persons Day, February 3, 2023. The list of people from Colorado who've been missing for more than a year.
There are nearly 600 names on the list. 600 people, 600 families who still wonder if they'll ever see their loved ones again. There is a website where those who know/love the missing, can leave tributes. Again, sad, that a site like that has to exist.
The list has 589 Colorado men and women, mostly women, on this list were recognized with a prayer vigil and a resolution being read, both at the state capitol on February 3, 2023.
The Director of the CBI, John Camper, had this statement about Colorado Missing Persons Day:
While Colorado law enforcement agencies have recorded a number of solved cold cases in the past year, we must never lose sight of the families still left without answers about their missing loved ones...While we are making great strides in incorporating emerging technologies as part of some cold case investigations, we must continue to also focus our resources on supporting families who are navigating the myriad of challenges associated with having a missing loved one
My heart, as I'm sure many other Coloradans' hearts do, goes out to those who know and love these missing people from our great state. It makes me realize how much I take for granted. I sincerely hope that at the very least, answers can be found to as to "what/why?' these people have gone missing.
