An alleged murder took place in a small Colorado mountain town earlier this week, and the victim has been identified by the local coroner.

The incident took place on Monday, July 7, 2025, in the small mountain town of Blue River, Colorado.

In case you're not familiar, Blue River is located high in the Rocky Mountains just outside of the popular ski town of Breckenridge, Colorado.

Immediately following reports of a shooting in the Summit County town, a lockdown was issued at roughly 6:45 p.m. in the area where the homicide allegedly took place.

The lockdown was in effect until 8:30 p.m., and a suspect who has yet to be identified was taken into custody after more shots were heard in the area following the arrival of local authorities.

Following the incident, a press release was published to inform the community of the matter, which stated the following:

Authorities emphasize that this appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no ongoing threat or danger to the community.

The victim, who tragically passed away from the injuries he suffered as a result of the shooting, has been identified by the local coroner as 32-year-old Jordan Labarre.

The incident appears to be isolated, and local authorities have reported that the alleged perpetrator of the crime is no longer a threat to the community.
