Biking is big stuff in these parts. I need to get myself one. With over 300 days of sunshine, beautiful terrain, and breathtaking scenery, Junction is prime-time biking territory. They're also prime targets for thieves.

There is a simple and affordable way to help protect your investment. Bikes these days can easily cost thousands of dollars. Register yours with the Grand Junction Police Department. The cost is only $1. Just give the police some basic information and your bikes serial number. That makes it much easier to search the database and greatly increases the chance of recovering your bike should it get ripped off.

It happens. There were nearly 300 stolen bike reports in 2016. With a registered bike it's much more difficult for a thief to try and pawn. Should they attempt to the registration number will alert authorities and the stolen bike can be returned to its rightful owner.
