A Couple of Great Concerts Coming to Grand Junction
Next Tuesday and Wednesday evenings it's two shows back to back at The Mesa Theater. I'm giving you the heads up now so you can budget accordingly.
On Tuesday, August 8th it's Tantric with special guest Kirra. You've probably heard the commercials on 95 Rock. Tantric is one of those bands you may have forgotten about. The band was formed out of ashes of Days Of The New back in 1999. Over the years, and numerous member changes, the band has re-emerged and back on the road. From the self-titled debut "Tantric" the band exploded on the scene selling over a million copies. Over the years releasing six albums. Their latest, "Blue Room Archives" in 2014.
Wednesday evening August 9th, it's Shattered Sun, City of the Weak, plus a couple more bands. Shattered Sun is out of south Texas. They've been around since 2005 but most recently, in February of 2015, a deal with Victory Records took this band to the next level. They're veterans of the road playing both the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival and the Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival.
Our friends City of the Weak is making their third stop in Junction in the past year. Most recently as the opening act for Wayland this past spring. This band out of Minneapolis is on a rapid rise and one of the hottest female fronted bands out there.
So do yourself a favor and budget your bucks and make the effort to take in both these greats shows.
