He's known as 'America's Most Armed Man' and he lives right here in Colorado.

It may not be official, but Mel Bernstein proudly wears the title of being the most armed man in the country with more than 4,000 weapons. According to the report from ABC News, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms and Explosives does not have the data to confirm if this is, in fact, the biggest cache of firearms in the United States, but it's difficult to imagine anyone having more.

His collection of weapons includes bazookas, tanks, mortars, sawed-off shotguns, a flame-thrower, and over 200 machine guns- enough to outfit a small army. Berstein says everything he has is legal in the state of Colorado.

Machine Guns For Sale or Rent

Bernstein is a gun shop owner in Colorado Springs who says he rents and sells machine guns to customers. His property, known as Dragonland, is littered with signs warning of consequences for trespassers. Bernstein says "if anyone comes on your property and threatens you with bodily harm, it's illegal to shoot 'em. It's Colorado law. They should have that nationwide."

Tragedy At Dragonland

Sadly, Bernstein's wife, Terry, was killed accidentally in 2012 by a smoke bomb while filming a reality TV show for the Discovery Channel. Now, Bernstein lives with four female mannequins at his home that features a jukebox, Coca-Cola memorabilia, and model cars - which he says puts him back "in my era - the 60s - where I belong."
