The Loveland Police Department has announced that a complex fraud scheme that targeted two Northern Colorado restaurants and a California company that makes order and payment systems for restaurants has been dismantled.

A Loveland detective's work shows that a Fort Collins man was processing fraudulent credit card sales through a point of sale system. A total of 275 transactions just shy of $352,000 were processed while using 19 different credit cards.

Lorenzo Castaneda, 32, of Fort Collins was arrested on May 25. Castaneda operated under the name Serendipity Food Truck. Documents are alleging that some of the credit card thefts were attained from purchases made at the Serendipity Food Truck. The funds from these transactions were allegedly moved into three different bank accounts that are suspected of being under the control of Lorenzo Castaneda.

Lorenzo Castaneda has been charged with theft, cybercrime, three counts of identity theft, and three counts of criminal impersonation in relation to the fraud case. the charges have been brought by the Larimer County District Attorney from the results of the investigation that was conducted with the cooperation of the Northern Colorado Economic Crime Task Force.
