This Saturday you can help “Stamp Out Hunger” with the National Association of Letter Carriers and the United Way of Mesa County. Now in it’s 21st year, the “Stamp Out Hunger” food drive is the largest one day food drive in the country and has helped millions of Americans put food on the table. Last year local carriers collected and distributed a record 102,000 pounds of food and more than one million pounds of food has been collected in Mesa County since the first drive in 1993.

This is one of the easiest food drives to donate to, just pack up a bag of non-perishable foods and leave it next to your mail box this Saturday. The mail carriers will gather up the food and deliver it to area food banks. You can donate cans of soup, pasta, rice or cereal. Sixteen percent of all Americans are at risk of hunger, which includes one in five children. This Saturday pack up a bag of non-perishable food and just leave it by your mailbox and help “Stamp Out Hunger” in Mesa County.
