Now that Old Man Winter has kicked open the door I have one question? Are you ready for winter driving? The snow is already flying in the mountains and it looks like that may be case for the next few months.

Before you hit the road there are a few things you should do to help make the trip a little easier.

First make sure to get your ride is ready with good tires and brakes, and make sure all of the vehicle fluids are fresh and full.

You should also check the belts and hoses, there is nothing worse that trying to change that kind of stuff when it's 3 degrees outside.

The other thing is you should put together a travel pack and keep it in the vehicle where you can get to it. I use an old hockey bag that I pack and take with me when I head over the mountains.

Old Nan Winter isn't going to let up any time soon so be careful out there and drive safe.
