Brooklyn Park Renamed for the Late Adam Yauch

Saturday marked the year anniversary of the passing of Beastie Boy Adam Yauch. Yauch was a born-and –bred New Yorker and is should in his music. Known to most as MCA Yauch died of cancer at the age of 47, why too young. To commemorate his life and the borough where Yauch grew up, on Friday, a Brooklyn park was renamed in his honor. The park, formerly called Palmetto Playground, will now be known as — yes — Adam Yauch Park; the ceremony included words from Yauch’s mother, Adam “Ad-Rock” Horovitz and the borough president. RIP MCA.
