With college basketball slated to begin in November, the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) has released its preseason coaches poll and all-conference team selections for men’s and women’s basketball.

Colorado Mesa University’s women’s basketball team was selected to win the RMAC for the third straight season. The Lady Mavericks have competed very well in recent years, only having four losses in the last two years combined.

Rounding out the top top five in the women’s preseason poll are Black Hills State, Colorado-Colorado Springs, Colorado State-Pueblo and Colorado Christian.

None of the players from CMU’s women’s team were selected to the preseason All-RMAC team.

On the men’s side, Colorado Mesa was picked seventh in the RMAC men’s basketball preseason poll.

Defending RMAC champion Metro State was selected first in the poll, followed by Colorado-Colorado Springs and Colorado Mines.

Colorado Mesa junior Ryan Stephan was selected to the Preseason All-Conference Team.

Both of Colorado Mesa’s basketball teams have exhibition games scheduled in a couple weeks. The Lady Mavs have a pair of exhibitions November 3 and 4 against Utah Valley and Southern Utah. CMU’s men’s team will play an exhibition game November 5 at Utah Valley State.
