Tonight (November 6) when the Colorado Avalanche hit the ice against the Nashville Predators, Patrick Roy will look to break Marc Crawford’s record. The Avalanche are 12-1 on this young season and if Roy gets a win tonight he will set a new mark in the NHL for the most wins before two losses to start a coaching career.

Crawford set the mark in 1994 when he took over the Quebec Nordiques just before they moved to Denver.

The Predators are 7-5-2 on the season and will be without their star goalies Pekka Rinne as he is still out with an E. coli infection in his hip.

Nashville hasn’t played since last Saturday night so they will be well rested, which could be tough game for Denver.

I do expect the record to fall, the Avalanche are a good young team and Roy has them playing a very solid game. It might a bit early for this but right now I think Patrick Roy is the coach of the year in the NHL.
