This evening's Newsboys concert scheduled for the Amphitheater at Las Colonias Park has been moved to the Two Rivers Convention Center. Door times remain the same. VIP's will admitted at 5:30, 6:00 for the general public and the show will start at 7:30 PM.

For a place that averages over 300 days of sunshine and less than 9 inches of annual precipitation, rain and thunderstorms have been a factor for a couple of concerts at the new amphitheater including the Newsboys show this evening.

Lukas Nelson & The Promise of The Real, the first ever show at the new venue, was rained out. That show is rescheduled for Thursday, August 17th. Not sure what the deal is but the good news (no pun intended) is that the Newsboys will go off as scheduled just at Two Rivers. Everclear was my first show at that venue and I must say it worked out just fine.

“Ensuring our guests have a safe and enjoyable time is our number one priority,” said Pinnacle Venue Services, Maria Rainsdon, General Manager of the Two Rivers Convention Center and Avalon Theatre. “With the 90% chance of a thunderstorm hitting Grand Junction at the time of the concert, we decided to move it to the Convention Center for the safety of our guests.”

Those with VIP tickets, parking will be provided below the Convention Center. Entrance to that lot is on the Southwest side of the building off of Colorado at the I-70 Business Loop. Parking in the south side lot off of Colorado will be free for all guests. No need to bring the lawn chair now. Chairs will be provided to all attendees. All other rules and policies will remain the same.
