A huge pet adoption event is happening this weekend in Grand Junction.

Pets will be available for adoption from Roice-Hurst, Claws, and Grand River Humane so there should be a great selection to choose from. There will also be free consultations with pet professionals including a veterinarian, a groomer, and a pet trainer.

In addition to all of the pet activity there will be a food truck, games, and face painting so it will be a great family event.

My advice to you if you are thinking of adopting is to make sure that your entire family is ready for the responsibility of owning a pet. That list includes feeding, bathing, grooming, exercising, spay or neuter, plus the standard expense of regular pet health care. Too many times, people adopt a pet but aren't ready for the commitment pet ownership requires.

The pet adoption is 11am-4pm on Saturday, April 14 at Discovery Auto Group, 2490 Highway 6 and 50 in Grand Junction.
