What motivates criminals to risk going to jail with the odd things they do? It can leave honest citizens scratching their heads. This case in Palisade is proving to be one of those.

Crime Stoppers of Mesa County reports that sometime between 5 p.m. on Sunday, March 25 and 5:30 a.m. on Monday, March 26, a man broke into Palisade Cleaners at 542 Iowa Avenue.

Video surveillance from the business revealed the trespasser is a white male with white hair and a goatee. In the video, he was wearing a black and white jacket.

Why this man broke into a dry cleaning business no one can completely figure out. What could he possibly want to steal? Someone's dirty laundry? Previously worn but freshly cleaned clothes? Clothes hangers or plastic to cover his dress clothes? If he was looking for cash, a cleaning business isn't the place where there's likely to be a lot of it.
