The Colorado Mesa University Mavericks won their second consecutive RMAC football game Saturday night with a 36-12 victory over the Fort Lewis Skyhawks at Stocker Stadium. Sophomore Jake Cimolino rushed for 216 yards on 27 carried and 2 touchdowns, while redshirt freshman D.J. Hubbard ran for 110 yards on 7 carries and a touchdown and caught four passes as the Mavericks scored 20 unanswered points to pull away from the winless Skyhawks. Junior quarterback Jason Haferman completed 14 of 29 passes for 175 yards and ran for another 38 on 7 carries to spark the Mavericks offense, which has now scored over 30 points for the 5th consecutive game. The Mavericks improve to 3-4 on the season and 3-2 in conference play. They'll be on the road next Saturday against Colorado School of Mines before returning to Stocker Stadium on October 27 to host CSU Pueblo.
