Celebrating 420? CSP Will Be Watching

It's my first Colorado 420. It doesn't mean a whole lot to me. I'll be at work all day. If you're partaking, be careful and don't attempt to drive under the influence. Colorado State Patrol will out in force watching for impaired drivers.

420 is a big deal here in one of the few legal recreational marijuana states in the nation. There are only 3. Pot shops have been open for business in Colorado and Washington since 2014, and in Oregon since 2015.

Even though it's legal for anyone over 21 to buy marijuana on 420 or any other day for that matter, it's not legal to drive high. This week is 420 Safety Week. State and local authorities will be on the lookout for anyone driving erratically.

Another concern is for tourist not used to Colorado's product quality. It's better to err on the side of caution and designate a driver or simply celebrate at home. Colorado's pot products are potent. Taking a chance could land you in jail, or worse. Someone getting hurt or killed because of a poor decision is no way to celebrate.
