Bumblebee Shows Off His World War II Mode in New ‘Transformers: The Last Knight’ Poster
With Transformers: The Last Knight, Michael Bay has created an alternate universe in which giant robots in disguise have been helping humanity through every historical conflict you can imagine. In a video yesterday, Anthony Hopkins’ voiceover explained that they’ve “been here forever,” but exactly WHY Earth is so important to them remains a mystery. The Last Knight will explore a little of that history, from King Arthur to Japanese samurai, while also making a quick pit stop in the 1940s.
Walton Goggins to Play Anarchist Leader in ‘The Maze Runner: The Death Cure’
After a bit of a rocky start involving an injury suffered by star Dylan O’Brien, Maze Runner: The Death Cure, the third installment in the series based on the YA novels, is set to begin production in South Africa very soon. And a new character is joining the fray: Walton Goggins has boarded the film, so I guess that means we all have to watch it now.
‘The Fifth Element’ Gets a 4K Anniversary Re-release With a ‘Valerian’ Preview Attached
It’s time to dust off your MultiPasses, Luc Besson fans: his wild sci-fi adventure The Fifth Element is coming back to theaters for a special anniversary re-release, and in 4K, no less. The 1997 movie is just about as weird as you can get with sci-fi, and it’s become something of a classic. But that’s not all — those of us who are excited for Besson’s new movie Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, which hits theaters this summer, will get to see a sneak preview of it attached to The Fifth Element’s re-release.
Michael Bay Says ‘Bumblebee’ Is a Prequel, and It’ll Start Production This Year
Who is the best Transformer? Correct, it’s Bumblebee. The trusty little Camaro who communicates half in speech and half with the assistance of sound bites from his radio is getting his own spinoff, and Paramount is looking at a release date sometime in 2018. Michael Bay, who is now in the process of choosing which Transformers story to do next, recently revealed that Bumblebee is going to be a prequel.
Professional Clowns Are Concerned About How the ‘It’ Movie Will Affect Their Careers
There are two groups who are going to feel personally victimized about the new It movie: young children, because Pennywise eats them, and real-life professional clowns. It’s no secret that most people are afraid of clowns — that’s the whole reason Pennywise appears as a clown in Stephen King’s novel in the first place. But folks who make their living as clowns are afraid the new movie will only exacerbate those fears and make it much more difficult to land grade school birthday party gigs.

Rian Johnson Snaps a Photo From the ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ Edit Bay
After months of radio silence, it looks like we’re finally going to get to see a little more of the next episode in the Star Wars saga. Yesterday, we had that sweet title reveal (along with some troubling Sith red in the logo…), and today director Rian Johnson shared a photo from the editing bay, where he and his crew are hard at work putting the finishing touches on their new movie.
Michael Keaton Says He Bailed on ‘Batman Forever’ Because He Knew It ‘Sucked’
Batman Forever is perhaps best known for being the second most terrible Batman movie ever made aside from Batman & Robin. It is, in a word, spectacularly bad, marring the promise of seeing the Riddler and Two-Face banter onscreen with some truly terrible acting on the part of everyone involved, and a script that just defies any willful suspension of disbelief. Michael Keaton seemed to be unusually prescient of all of this, since the reason he gave for why he chose to bow out of the franchise was that he knew it was going to be terrible.
Zack Snyder Loved ‘Batman v. Superman’ So Much He Put Himself Right Into It
Well, part of himself. You know those tiny shots that go into movies, of feet or the backs of heads of hands holding things? Sometimes actors just don’t feel like doing them. That’s when someone like a director steps in, to get in those quick second-long shots that are probably boring for those people who spend their careers on-camera, but tons of fun for anyone who doesn’t. Apparently Zack Snyder has a tiny cameo in Batman V. Superman that wasn’t even his entire body.
Rumor: The ‘Han Solo’ Spinoff Might Be Headed to a New Holiday Release Date
The shift from summer to Christmas for The Force Awakens came as a bit of a shock to Star Wars fans, who were so used to seeing the earlier installments of the first two trilogies hit theaters in the warmer months. Summer releases for Star Wars movies had become something of an unspoken tradition, so the holiday release had some feeling a little perturbed. Disney and Lucasfilm sure weren’t, though, as The Force Awakens raked in that holiday box office cash, topping every Star Wars movie before it in less than twelve parsecs. Now, a rumor has surfaced that the Han Solo spinoff, which has so far been scheduled for May 2018, might get bumped forward to December.
