    Associate Planner

    Let's start off with the highest paying job in this new batch of listings. What's involved with this gig? According to the city's official webpage:

    Under the direction of the Community Development Director, perform professional level duties and responsibilities in the development, implementation, and modifications of City plans and regulations.

    The applicant will need to have:

    Bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited college or university with major coursework in planning or a related field and one year of increasingly responsible urban planning and zoning experience.

    Forestry Equipment Operator

    $18.73 - $20.67 hr

    I know people who do work like this in their spare time for fun. Imagine getting paid for it. What's the job description?:

    The Forestry Operations team maintains over 40,000 trees within the City of Grand Junction through the planting, trimming, and removal of trees, as well as operating a Plant Health Program for trees in City right-of-ways, 36 community and regional parks, two (2) municipal Golf Courses, and two (2) City Cemeteries.

    Guest Service Representative

    10.20 - $10.46 hr

    Okay, so you aren't going to get rich with this one, at least not right away. What does the job involve?

    Guest Service Representatives must have exceptional customer service and previous cash handling skills. Employees in this position are expected to greet pool guests, accept admission and pass fees, sell retail and concessions items, register guests for swim lessons, book facility amenities, answer telephones, and perform light administrative tasks and cleaning duties.

    In other words... clerk. Hey, it's a good gig. Why not go for it?

    This one is pretty self-explanatory. Duties include:

    Under the direction of the Facilities Supervisor, performs a full range of custodial duties related to the care, cleaning and minor maintenance of assigned buildings and facilities.

    Parks Patrol Officer

    $15.00 hr

    Here's a seasonal job you might enjoy. You've seen the individuals in bright yellow jerseys riding bikes around town. Have you thought about joining the Parks Patrol? What's involved?

    Patrol City parks, trails, facilities and buildings by motorized vehicle, bicycle or on foot to ensure compliance with parking laws and other City codes, rules, and regulations.

    What are the qualifications?

    Ability to work a variety of hours/shifts/days. Equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade plus one year of experience in public recreation, security or related field, or the desire to work in law enforcement. Possession of, or ability to obtain, Colorado Driver's License. Good physical condition and ability to withstand hot weather conditions. Good moral character (past criminal history may be disqualifying). Must be 21 years of age by date of hire. Successful completion of background check, Computerized Voice Stress Analysis (CVSA), pre-employment physical and drug screen required.
