While I am not a veteran, I am damn proud of every man and woman who has served this great country. I know that lots of people have so many negative things to say, but I am proud to live in America and enjoy the freedoms that so many others don't have.

That's why I knew immediately that I had to share the good news with you about the Wreaths Across America truck stopping in Grand Junction and on Orchard Mesa. The Wreaths will be placed next week at our local cemeteries.

A very special THANK YOU goes out to not only our Mesa County Veteran Services Office but also our local Patriot Guard Riders and Blue Star Mothers. The work that these organizations and people step up to complete is simply amazing.

If you want to help volunteer to display the wreaths there won't be an online signup, you just need to show up at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, December 18th at the Veterans Cemetary located at 2830 Riverside Parkway in Grand Junction. Or you can participate on Saturday, December 19th at 10:00 a.m. at Orchard Mesa Cemetary.

Make sure to connect with the Mesa County Veteran Services Office on Facebook so you can see pictures of the Wreaths once they are all on display. It really is powerful to see so many people wanting to show respect for these heroes.
