Their Jeep rolled down the side of the mountain on Black Bear Pass, ejecting Suzie and their two dogs from the back. Thankfully, all four of them are okay -- Suzie and her dogs miraculously survived the fall. One of her dogs, Decker who is just a puppy, was lost for a while but was thankfully found by hikers.

Suzie's dogs are fine, her boyfriend sustained minor injuries and Suzie is still in the hospital. Poor Suzie ended up with a dislocated hip, fractured rib, and some fractures in her spine, according to her blog. She was flown to St. Mary's in Grand Junction and has had multiple surgeries.

Suzie is now recovering at Craig Hospital in Denver (who specializes in spinal cord injuries) and is currently paralyzed from the waist. Her attitude about the incident is absolutely incredible and inspiring. While some days are harder than others, Suzie says every day is a good day. In her blog she also stated:

I thank God every day that my injuries are as minor as they are. Things could've been a lot worse...

She goes on to say how grateful she is that she, her boyfriend, and their dogs are okay. Suzie is also incredibly thankful for the staff at Craig Hospital in Denver, the love and support of her family, her boyfriend's family, friends, and strangers.
