West Side Story for Dinner and a Movie Tonight

Tonight at the Avalon Theater the award winning West Side Story for Dinner and a Movie. West Side Story is the adaptation of the classic romantic tragedy, ”Romeo and Juliet” replacing the feuding families and sword play with warring New York City street gangs and a rumble under the highway. In 1961 the highly successful Broadway Musical was brought to the silver screen with an all-star cast and winning 10 Oscars in the process.

The Jets and the Sharks are locked in a turf war that becomes complicated when Maria, played by Natalie Wood, falls in love with former Jet Tony, played by Richard Beymer. The two lovers play to run away but before they can it comes to light the gangs are planing a rumble. Maria sends Tony to stop the fight and that is when tragedy strikes. This is a great date night movie and the Avalon will let two people in free with your dinner recipe tonight.
