The weather in Grand Junction broke two records today. Grand Junction received a record-breaking amount of rain and set the record low today, September 8, 2020.
Colorado has been receiving some very interesting weather as of lately. Yesterday, Monday, September 7, 2020, the high was near 90 in Grand Junction. But today, Tuesday, September 8, 2020, is a completely different story.
The high in Grand Junction today was near 55 with lots of rain and even snow in some areas like Glade Park and on the Grand Mesa. Grand Junction broke two weather records today and here they are:
Record-Breaking Rain
The first record Grand Junction broke today has to do with precipitation. Grand Junction received a record-breaking amount of rain today, September 8, 2020. We received .61 inches (so far) in Grand Junction today which beats the old record of .49. The old record was set in 1929 and after almost 100 years, it's been broken.
Record Low
Grand Junction broke a second record today because of how cold it is. It was 42 degrees today, which is a new record low for September 8, according to the US National Weather Service Grand Junction Colorado's Facebook page.
Colorado's weather can be unpredictable, this amount of unpredictability is literally record-breaking. It will be interesting to see what the rest of the week holds for Grand Junction when it comes to the weather.
It looks like we're going to see another extreme temperature difference, but this time it will be from 40 degrees to 80 degrees.
