As of Tuesday at 10:30 a.m., the Cameron Peak Fire has grown to 14,018 acres, according to the Incident Information System.

Colorado's Air Pollution Control Division warns that wildfire smoke could increase throughout Tuesday afternoon and evening with a wind shift.

The most significant growth occurred along the west and southwest flanks of the fire, in the Rawah Wilderness and near Cameron Pass, where crews contained multiple spot fires across Highway 14 and Long Draw Road.

Colorado Highway 14 is closed from Rustic to Gould and fire crews are currently occupying Poudre Canyon.

Structure protection work continues throughout the affected area, with crews cutting out brush and vegetation that is close to homes and other buildings and setting up hoses, pumps and sprinklers where needed.

If conditions are favorable, crews will conduct burnout operations along the north side of Highway 14 to establish an anchor point from which containment can begin to be secured.

Here's a photo I took Monday night at Windsor Lake. It was only about 7:30 p.m. but the sky seemed so dark and hazy, you could feel the thickness in the air.

Larimer County has implemented mandatory and voluntary evacuation orders around the fire area, and a forest closure remains in effect. The Canyon Lakes Ranger District is under Stage Two fire restrictions.

However, there are isolated thunderstorms possible this afternoon, so, fingers crossed that we'll get some meteorological help.
