Following a succession of collaborations among the two, Trivium have re-recorded the song "Coração Não Tem Idade (Vou Beijar)" by Portuguese performer Toy in a manner befitting the band's metal pedigree.

The creative pairing that culminated in the reimagined selection sang entirely in Portuguese found its nexus when Trivium frontman Matt Heafy first covered the Toy song on his Twitch channel in 2018. A year later, Toy joined Trivium onstage at Portugal's VOA Festival 2019 during a performance of the band's Silence in the Snow track "Until The World Goes Cold." The two creative entities again aligned for the wholly re-recorded version of the tune released Tuesday (Oct. 29).

"The collaboration between Toy and Trivium has been nothing but unexpected and incredible — every step of the way," Heafy offered. "From its beginning, starting from a Twitch raid into my channel; into me doing a cover that would soon find itself on Portuguese national radio and national news; into a live duo that created madness not unlike a riot at a festival; then finally into a true, full band cover with a cameo by Toy himself."

He continued, "This cover, just like the original, makes you feel good. Whether you speak Portuguese or not, you'll find yourself moving and singing along by the second chorus. We are proud to call Toy a friend, and we can't wait to do this more and live together. We can't wait to see what else we can create as a unit together."

Trivium have kept busy since the 2017 release of their eighth album The Sin and the Sentence. Heafy is set to appear on Hatebreed vocalist Jamey Jasta's upcoming Jasta effort, Lost Chapters Vol. 2. In July, Heafy covered Slipknot's "Solway Firth" acoustically.
