Top Five Best Things About Living in Grand Junction
I recently posted a question on Facebook asking what the best things about living in Grand Junction are. Here are the results:
1. Scenery/Outdoor Activities
There's no question that this side of the state is beautiful. Krystal said that she loves the "mountains during the winter when they get snow," and Robin commented on "the natural beauty all around us." With the Colorado National Monument, the book cliffs and Grand Mesa, we are fortunate for the stunning scenery here.
2. Festivals/Live Music
Grand Junction is also home to many fun festivals, especially in the summertime. The music scene is thriving with tons of local talent, and a wide variety of genres. Plus, it helps that Grand Junction loves a good party.
3. Fall Weather
Here's another big one, and it's happening right now. While Colorado's front range is getting pounded with snow, Grand Junction is enjoying only slightly brisk temperatures and a plethora of beautiful fall foliage. Autumn seems to go by in the blink of an eye in many parts of Colorado, but not here.
4. Proximity to Other Great Areas
I couldn't agree more with this one. While Grand Junction may seem to be a bit isolated, it isn't. Myk commented that he likes living here because of the "56-minute flight to Vegas," and Donna said that she "loves being so close to Moab."
5. Size of the City
While Grand Junction is one of the biggest cities on this side of the state, it's more of a small city or large town compared to its counterparts on the front range. With just over 60,000 people, Grand Junction has the small-town feel while still providing residents with all of the essentials. I mean, we have a mall, numerous music shops, and Barnes and Noble, what more could you ask for?
