These last couple of cooler days got me thinking, time for this boy to take a hike! No question, fall is my favorite time of the year. Back home, fall bass fishing was my thing. Here, I'm leaning towards hiking.

If I seem a bit noncommittal, its because I am. I admit I'm a little out of practice. I haven't been hiking in this kind of terrain since hitting the trail with my sons Boy Scout Troop at Camp Alexander near Pikes Peak.  That was several years ago.

A coworker suggested the Gunny Loop Trail.  It's not far from town and he says "It's not too tough." His confidence wasn't all that reassuring, but there's only one way to find out. Get out there and give it go.

The 10-day forecast looks favorable. Afternoon highs in the low 80's and lows in the upper 50's, looks like its time to hit it. I'm sure many of you have your favorites. After I hit the Gunny Loop, which one should I take to next?

Post and share your favorite hiking and biking trails. Not only can you turn me on to something new, perhaps you'll suggest a trail someone else may not be aware of. Thanks in advance, I guess...and I'll see you on the trail.
