Grand Junction has been through countless changes over the years and sometimes it's difficult to remember what things were like before they changed.

Change Becomes the New Normal

When change happens, it oftentimes feels sudden and very different, because we have grown accustomed to seeing things a particular way. But, over the course of time, the changes become the new normal, and the memories of what used to be gradually fade away. Do you remember what was there before American Furniture Warehouse came in? Or, what was on the spot where Splish Splash Car Wash came in across from the Grand Mesa Shopping Center on 6 & 50?

It's Easy To Forget, But Fun To Remember

That's why I'm bringing up these 12 changes that have occurred in Grand Junction and illustrating how dramatic these changes have been. It's easy to forget the past - but it's fun to remember.

Some are more recent, like the opening of the new truck stops on Highway 6 & 50 on the way to Fruita. Others seem so long ago, like when Hobby Lobby opened at its new location along with Sprouts. Either way, it's interesting to see how things were before there were changes and new construction.
