The Winery Dogs, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai + More Host Musician Camps This Summer
Summer means camps for the kids, but adults can also enjoy some fun and music with musician camps. Several artists have camps planned this year, including The Winery Dogs, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani and more.
The Winery Dogs will be hosting their Dog Camp again this year. It will be held at the Full Moon Resort in Big Indian, N.Y. from July 27-31. Watch the video above as drummer Mike Portnoy talks about this year's camp.
The camp is designed for aspiring musicians of all ages and levels. In addition to the Winery Dogs' Portnoy, Billy Sheehan and Richie Kotzen, guests at this year's Dog Camp include Megadeth's David Ellefson and Testament's Alex Skolnick. For more information, go here.
If you're a guitarist, the second annual G4 Experience might be right up your alley. It features the legendary axeman Joe Satriani along with several other guitarists and will be held June 28 through July 2 at Cambria Pines Lodge in Cambria, Calif. Visit their website for all the details.
Another guitar-focused camp is Steve Vai's Vai Academy. Campers will jam with Vai and learn from him and various guest instructors including Eric Johnson and Sonny Landreth. It takes place at the Arrabelle at Vail Square in Vail, Colo. from Aug. 2-6. Watch a video about the camp below and check out their website.
