By the time New England took the field on Sunday Night against San Francisco, they already knew it was a must win game to stay in the number two seed for the AFC playoffs. Earlier that day the Denver Broncos beat the Baltimore Ravens 34-17 to win their 9th strait and go to 11-3 on the season. It was the first time the Broncos Beat the Ravens in Baltimore and it showed that Denver could go on the road and win a big game.

New England lost to San Francisco 41-34 and that does two things.

First, it makes Denver the number two seed in the AFC playoffs, which means a first round bye and home field for the first game. The Broncos have just two games left, this Sunday against the Cleveland Browns who have been playing better and next weekend against the Kansas City Chiefs who have just two wins and got shut-out by Oakland this weekend.

The other thing it does. It means if New England wins their first playoff game, they come to Denver! I don’t know about you, but I would rather see the Broncos play New England in Denver. The Broncos are in the driver’s seat, win their last two games at home and they are the Number two seed in the AFC playoffs. If they drop one of those games they would be the number three seed and will have to go to New England in the second round of the AFC playoffs.
