Colorado’s Border Isn’t Just Four Sides
You might think Colorado has a lot to offer, but when it comes to the shape of the state it's just a bland rectangle. Yep, four sides making a rectangle. Well, it actually isn't just four sides.
There are actually 697 sides to Colorado. According to BigThink.com, that makes our state a "hexahectaenneacontakaiheptagon". Try saying that one as fast as you can five times. If you don't want to count the nooks and crannies around the entire border, we're still not a rectangle. BigThink also states that our state is smaller at the northern border by 22 miles, making the generalized shape of Colorado an isosceles trapezoid.
There is a bunch of other jargon that you can learn about the state of Colorado's shape at BigThink.
