A woman in Massachusetts made a big mistake this year that almost cost her a fortune. She removed her diamond jewelry to clean it in one of those ultrasonic jewelry cleaners. She set them on some paper towel to dry overnight, and then accidentally swept them into the trash which she took out to the curb the next morning.

The reality is $160,000 can buy a lot of anything. A now former UPS employee happened upon a box with a diamond ring worth exactly that. However, after stealing it, he made a questionable trade.
