The political election season brings on all types of grandstanding. One of the easiest things to point fingers about is who wanted to debate and who was trying to duck the debate. Or in the case of one guy, just find replacements to debate, human or otherwise.

Compared to some of the other gross things politicians have been caught doing, this isn't so bad.

With the government shutdown rolling on, it’s no surprise to hear Americans don’t exactly have a high opinion of Congress.

Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith is a man who respects the craft of music and embraces its many forms, so it's no surprise that he'd be willing to speak out on behalf of music education in Washington, D.C. Smith did just that earlier this week, speaking to members of Congress about music funding in public schools.

It's no surprise that Congress' approval numbers have dropped significantly since the fiscal cliff debacle. But what's surprising is exactly how unpopular the legislative body has become. To put things in perspective, Congress is currently more unpopular than even the much-hated rock band Nickelback. Now that's saying something.

Regardless of who wins the presidential election, starting January 2013 some 163 million workers across the United States will be slapped with a significant tax increase.
