Cameron Peak Fire

The number of firefighters deployed has dwindled from more than a thousand during the peak of the fire to now at about 300.

Even though venues and restaurants have had a difficult year, this one raised over $18,000 for the fire departments that protected them during the Cameron Peak Fire.

Firefighters from around the country have been working to extinguish the Cameron Peak Fire for more than 100 days.

The fire has been sitting over 208,913 acres since Nov. 2. Containment is at 92% as of Thursday's morning's official update.

Flint has been adopted by a local farm, Larimer Humane Society shared via Facebook on Monday.

About 30,000 acres or 9% of the park has burned. Park staff is working on a plan to help the areas most impacted.

It was started on the afternoon of Aug. 13 — the cause is under investigation but it is believed that it was human-caused because of a lack of lightning activity in the area.

Flint was found in the Cameron Peak Fire, and now needs a forever home.

The logs will soon be available to the highest bidder.
