Slipknot are currently in first position for Corey Taylor as the band continues support of their .5: The Gray Chapter album by launching their summer tour this week, but Taylor's other band, Stone Sour, hasn't exactly taken a break. Earlier this year, the group released a covers EP called Meanwhile in Burbank, and they're planning two more covers EPs for the coming months. While appearing on the Talk Is Jericho podcast for Podcast One, Taylor revealed a few more details about the next two discs.

Though he kept the names of the songs to himself, Taylor did dish the acts that will be covered. The Straight Outta Burbank EP will feature covers of songs by Bad Brains, Rolling Stones, Slayer, Motley Crue and Iron Maiden. Meanwhile, the No Sleep 'Till Burbank disc features covers of Van Halen, Violent Femmes, Buzzcocks, Rage Against the Machine and AC/DC songs.

Speaking with host Chris Jericho about the decision to do covers collections, Taylor explained that it was primarily a project to have some fun. "This is something we've been talking about for years," says Taylor. "We decided instead of putting it all on one and trying to make that work, let's just have fun with it. It's kind of the same spirit of why we wanted to do it in the first place, cause we just wanted to have fun -- take the edge off, take the pressure off, just go in and have fun and show the world what got us into making music in the first place.

As for the decision to break it down into EPs, he added that it was a strategic move to make sure that nothing went to waste. "When you do something like that, you want to represent to the best of your ability. And by spacing it out and letting the fans get into five at a time, nothing gets lost in the shuffle. It just felt like by doing it that way that people would have time to digest each five before the next one comes on," said the singer.

Taylor also told Jericho that the "Burbank" tie-in came about because they united to record the songs at drummer Roy Mayorga's home studio in the well-known Los Angeles-area community. He also joked that he had the idea of shooting a cover of the entire band in black metal garb and makeup playing volleyball on Mayorga's lawn in the sun under a palm tree, but that unfortunately scheduling didn't pan out.

Meanwhile, another tidbit of info has been revealed by the Stone Sour camp. Guitarist Josh Rand posted a photo of himself with Halestorm's Lzzy Hale in the studio with the message, "A big thank you to Lzzy Hale for killing it today on this track. It sounds amazing!" Another clue comes in the hashtags for the message -- #straightouttaburbank #itsjustashotaway. The latter hashtag is a lyric from the Rolling Stones classic "Gimme Shelter."
