Even though Westcliffe and Silver Cliff only have about 1,000 people when you combine their populations, these two Colorado towns now have a special attraction that is hard to find anywhere else... on Earth. 

These Colorado towns have dimmed the lights so stars can shine brighter, and now they have some of the darkest skies on the planet.

'Frontier people don't like being told what to do,' Jim Bradburn, the president of Dark Skies Inc., said in the video below from Great Big Story. But, he convinced them (over the course of ten years) to dim the lights in their towns at night, and now visitors come from all over the world with hopes to see the Milky Way.
