I know this is not going to go over well, as it's clear that many people don't like wearing a mask. To be honest, no one likes wearing a mask but when facing a pandemic we do what we need to. But we are now hearing from The Denver Channel, that the World Health Organization is updating their guidelines on mask-wearing and now recommends anyone over the age of 12 to wear a mask both indoors and outdoors this includes inside any home that is poorly ventilated.

As you would expect new COVID-19 numbers across the country are released daily and yesterday according to John Hopkins University there were 180,083 new cases in the U.S.

The World Health Organization goes on to stress the importance of washing your hands often, avoiding touching your face as much as possible, make sure you are in a well-ventilated space whenever possible. And if you suspect you have come in contact with anyone who has tested positive to make sure you get tested, contact anyone you might have come in contact with, quarantine, and isolate until you are certain all symptoms are no longer active and you test comes back negative. Always check with your local health officials if you need more assistance.

The WHO also explains it would be best for all health care officials to be in an N-95 mask throughout their entire shift. And those doing intense physical activity should avoid wearing a mask when doing that activity due to complications that could arise with asthma.

The WHO still recommends no masks for kids under 5 years old, and ages 6-11 only if they are at risk.

Please remember these are not new guidelines here in Mesa County or Colorado, these are just the new guidelines released by the World Health Organization.
