Soccer Player Shoots Referee Dead After Getting Red Card
Soccer has a reputation for hooliganism, but this is way beyond anything you've probably ever heard.
An amateur soccer player in Argentina reportedly shot and killed a referee who issued him a red card during a match.
Britain's Guardian reports that after the player got the card, he left the field to get a gun from his own bag and returned, at which point he shot and killed the referee, identified as Cesar Flores, 48.
A police source told the Efe news agency: 'It all happened during the football match. We don’t know [exactly what took place], but it appears the player was angry, fetched a gun and killed him.'"
The details are pretty gruesome -- the player nailed three bullets in Flores head, chest and neck, while another player suffered a non-life-threatening injury.
Police are still searching for the player.
