According to the alerts I received on my phone this morning ALL School District 51 schools are CLOSED including:

Plateau Valley
Holy Family
IntelliTec College
Caprock Academy
Aspen School District
All Christian Community Schools
All Garfield County Schools
Heaven's Little Steps Day Care
Life Academy
Independence Academy
DeBeque School District
Roaring Fork School District
Juniper Ridge
All Aspen Schools

However, CMU is in SESSION!

All Mesa County Libraries are CLOSED as well.

The Museum of Western Colorado facilities are closed today as well.

Grand Junction is also under accident alert status which means:

If you are involved in a non-injury crash that does not involve suspected drunk drivers or require towing service, you need to exchange driver, vehicle & insurance information, then make a report within 48 hours by either contacting the Grand Junction Police Department or by calling 242-6707.

According to the AP:

A large winter storm and arctic front moving into Colorado is bringing snow to parts of the mountains and causing temperatures to plummet. Up to 9 inches of snow is forecast for Denver by this afternoon.

One of our listeners called at 7:09 and said,

I-70 East bound Just snow packed and Icy and cold

Grand Valley Transit is running on a delay and will be back up at 9a.

Clifton DMV branch is also closed.

Agape Food Bank in Fruita is closed as well.

Patterson west of 29 Road was closed due to adverse road conditions and vehicles stuck on the road, but has been reopened. Here's a pic of what we're dealing with . . .
