Shinedown have been busy working on their fifth studio album lately, but fans of the Florida rock act are in for yet another treat. The band is shooting a film to tell the story of Shinedown's history, but according to frontman Brent Smith, the movie will be much different than what you'd expect.

Shinedown have experienced huge success since their 2003 debut album, 'Leave a Whisper,' went platinum. The peak chart positions of Shinedown's follow-up albums have gone increasingly higher, with 'Amaryllis' getting all the way up to No. 4 in 2012.

"It's a little bit of a difficult thing to describe, because it's such a unique concept, the way that we're shooting it and the way that we're putting together the life of the band over the past 15 years," says Smith. "But we're doing it in a very impactful way, especially with how we're gonna edit it and how we're gonna release it." [via Blabbermouth]

In other Shinedown news, Brent Smith and guitarist Zach Myers released their '(ACOUSTIC SESSIONS)' EP, which features the duo's own renditions of Metallica's 'Nothing Else Matters,' the Clash's 'London Calling' among other covers.
