Over the weekend The Who and Pearl Jam celebrated anniversaries of a couple of big albums. In 1973 The Who released Quadrophenia 20 years later Pearl Jam released their album VS. Both are multi-platinum releases and topped the charts at the time they hit store shelves.

Quadrophenia was the sixth studio album from The Who and their second Rock Opera. It spawned a few hits, a movie and a Broadway play. There have been rumors about a sequel but no concrete plans from Pete Townshend have come to light.

In 1993 Pearl Jam released their second studio album VS. which sold over 1.3 million copies in the first week of sales. The follow up their Ten release spent over five weeks on the charts which spawned six hits for the band.

In 2008 Pearl Jam played the VH1 Rock Honors show for The Who. They played “Love, Reign O’er Me” and “The Real Me” both appear on the Quadrophenia album. By the way don’t forget to register for the Pearl Jam fly away to Los Angeles to see the band Twice.
