The Colorado Department of Transportation's 'Summer Blitz' begins on June 12, but what does that extra enforcement mean? It means there are more officers patrolling Colorado's highways and ensuring that impaired drivers stay off the road.

Over Memorial Day weekend, 231 drivers were arrested for impaired driving, according to a press release.

As a reminder, CDOT wants drivers to know:

The Colorado blood-alcohol (BAC) limit for a Driving Under the Influence (DUI) charge is 0.08 percent or higher, and for a Driving While Ability Impaired (DWAI) charge, it is 0.05 percent or higher.

The Colorado Department of Transportation's Summer Blitz campaign begins on June 12 and lasts through the 22.
