One-Man Band Performs Rush’s ‘Tom Sawyer’ on Guitar, Drums + Vocals Simultaniously
The coldest of beers to Mr. Dominic Fragman, who just performed the ridiculous feat of jamming Rush’s “Tom Sawyer.” What makes it so impressive? Fragman plays guitar, drums and does vocals simultaneously!
Dominic has made a number of these one-man-band videos on YouTube, including jams of Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs,” Led Zeppelin’s “Moby Dick” and The Black Keys’ “Lonely Boy.” This Rush cover is probably the most difficult to date, combining the iconic drumming of Neil Peart with Alex Lifeson’s guitar work and Geddy Lee’s vocals.
How does Dominic Fragman accomplish such complex multitasking? The musician sits behind his drum kit with a guitar on his lap and a mic in his face. Using his left hand for fret work, Fragman holds a drum stick in his right hand while synchronously strumming his guitar. This dude’s left foot is given quite the workout on the hi-hat while he perfects the rudiments and frills of Peart.
You can’t help but admire the multi-instrumentalist, so check out Dominic Fragman’s one-man version of “Tom Sawyer” above!
