October 2019 New Music Releases
Anniversary celebrations dominate the list of October 2019 new releases, but there are also some notable original projects on the way.
Neil Young has completed his first album with Crazy Horse since 2012’s Psychedelic Pill, and Ringo Starr returns with a guest-laden 20th solo record titled What's My Name.
Starr also inspired a song on the first new studio album in 18 years from Gregg Rolie. The Santana and Journey co-founder is a longtime member of Starr's All-Starr Band. Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott's side project Down 'n' Outz are set to release their third album too.
The Kinks' expanded reissue of Arthur (Or the Decline and Fall of the British Empire) includes three previously unreleased tracks and recordings made for an abandoned Dave Davies solo album. A deluxe edition of The Soft Parade, the Doors' fourth album, will include two CDs of bonus material.
Whitesnake's six-CD/one-DVD reissue of Slip of the Tongue includes their headlining performance at the Monsters of Rock Festival 1990 at Castle Donington. King Crimson, Freddie Mercury and the Steve Miller Band are also getting the box-set treatment.
More information on these and other rock releases can be found below. Remember to follow our continuously updated list of New Music Releases for details on music issued throughout the year.
