After going 4-0 on last week's sure-fire picks, I'm now 7-1 on the season, but this week's NFL schedule presents a definite challenge. If you're playing our pro football pick'em contest, maybe this will help.

SAN DIEGO over JACKSONVILLE

The Chargers have won two straight since a one point loss to Arizona to start the season. One of those wins came at home against Seattle, a legitimate and note-worthy victory. The Chargers are a bona-fide playoff contender, Jacksonville is not. The Jaguars have been awful, giving up a league high 119 points in three games, and there's just nothing that makes me think they can stop San Diego's offense.
My Prediction: CHARGERS 38 | JAGUARS 13

PITTSBURGH over TAMPA BAY
The Steelers have won twice in three weeks, but after laying an egg against the Ravens in week 2, they are a hard team to figure out. But, I think the Steelers are on the right track while the Buccaneers have been nothing but a train wreck so far. The Bucs are hoping to forget the 56 points the Falcons poured on them last week. The Steelers won't score that many points, but will score plenty, with room to spare as they keep Lovie Smith's team in the winless column.
My Prediction: STEELERS 28 | BUCCANEERS 20

ATLANTA over MINNESOTA
The Vikings had guardedly high hopes coming in to the season, but the wheels have come off their playoff train with the Adrian Peterson fiasco, and now the lost of  three more offensive starters to injury --quarterback, tight end, and guard, plus they released one of their starting wide receivers Jerome Simpson. That doesn't leave much for rookie Teddy Bridgewater to work with as he makes his first NFL start. The Vikings offense just won't be able to keep up with the high-flying Falcons.
My Prediction: FALCONS 34 | VIKINGS 20

INDIANAPOLIS over TENNESSEE
How in the world Tennessee beat Kansas City in week one I'll never know. The Titans have looked just awful since then. Meanwhile, the Colts looked really good last week after opening the season with losses to two really good team, Denver and Philadelphia. This might not be a runaway, but the Colts are moving in the right direction and will be more than good enough to take care of the Titans.
My Prediction: COLTS 31 | TITANS 17
