Pepsi Loves Colorado: Company’s Largest Plant in America Coming Soon
New opportunities are coming to Colorado with Pepsi's newest manufacturing plant.
According to a press release from PepsiCo, the company has chosen to base its largest and most sustainable plant in Denver, Colorado.
JOBS, JOBS, JOBS with PepsiCo
One of the most exciting parts of PepsiCo's announcement of their new plant is the promise of more jobs for Coloradans. PepsiCo currently employs 1,200 Coloradans, but with the expansion of their new plant, more positions will be available.
PepsiCo is expecting to add 250 employees with the creation of the new High Point facility. Positions needed include mechanics, truck drivers, and forklift operators. PepsiCo will also be hiring for supply chain leadership roles as well.
Denver, Colorado Rises Above the Rest
Four other states were considered as sites for the new High Point facility, but Denver evidently shined brighter than the rest.
"We're thrilled to call Denver, a city that shares so many of our values, home to PepsiCo's most sustainable U.S. plant location," said PepsiCo Beverages North America's West Division President, Johannes Evenblij.
"With the High Point facility serving a model for the future of PBNA's supply chain, we're eager to continue deepening our dedication to Colorado through positive impacts such as new job opportunities and more sustainable business solutions."
What To Expect At PepsiCo's New Facility
PepsiCo's new facility will boast 1.2 million square feet and will be located near the intersection of 72nd Avenue and Argonne Street. The High Point facility will be three times larger than the previous facility and aims to, "achieve 100% renewable electricity, best-in-class water efficiency, and reduced virgin plastic use."
The High Point facility is expected to be completed in the summer of 2023 and will manufacture Pepsi, Pepsi Zero, Gatorade, bubly, Rockstar, Propel, and Muscle Milk.
