We all know now more than ever that teachers do not have an easy job. Just ask any parent who has had to help with homework over the past few months with the COVID-19 pandemic. Now we are hearing from Business Insider that Netflix Billionaire Reed Hastings is working on building a 2,100-acre luxury training facility camp for teachers which just happens to be in Colorado.

The new luxury camp is going to be called Retreat Land at Lone Rock it will be in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and could be open as soon as March of 2021.

When the facility is open it will host groups of 30 teachers from public and charter schools who will attend four-day retreats with lots of team-building exercises, huge classroom space, and enjoy the on-site spa accommodations. This is a huge project that had even frustrated neighbors because they had no idea what the big project was, which will include a price tag over $20 million.

That price is nothing compared to Hastings 4.8 Billion dollar wealth, in fact back in 2016 he also pledged $100 million of his own money on education. Before working on Netflix Hastings was a member of the California Board of Education for four years and made it easier to create charter schools in California.

I'm not sure at this point how teachers would sign up to visit the luxury training camp but I have a feeling a lot of teachers would volunteer to check it out. And let's be honest teachers deserve this type of retreat. I'm just glad to hear that more teachers will be able to visit our beautiful state and see why we all love it here.
