Missing Vehicle Tied to Big Thompson River Death Investigation Located by Police
Last week, the Larimer County Sheriff's Office asked for the community's help in locating a missing vehicle, that belonged to a 20-year-old McKenna Fowler, of Longmont, who had recently passed away after being pulled from the Big Thompson River.
At approximately 6:40 p.m. on May 31, deputies were notified by the Estes Park Police Department that they had located Fowler's missing Toyota RAV4 near the 3000 Block of Highway 36.
According to investigators, the vehicle had left the roadway near the Estes Park welcome sign, and came to a rest about 200 feet down an embankment on the north side of the road, about 1/2 a mile from the Big Thompson River.
Investigators are still working the case to determine how and why the vehicle left the roadway. Many questions have yet to be answered regarding this incident, but police and Fowler's family are relieved that the vehicle has now been located.
