Would you like to take a look at the firefighting efforts currently taking place with the Pine Gulch Fire? Check out this amazing video.

The Mesa County Sheriff's Office just shared this footage. As the battle rages on, the Mesa County Sheriff's Office has both deputies and seasonal firefighters battling the blaze. One of those firefighters captured this footage and put together a short 20-second video.

To think, I thought it was smokey at my house at the opposite end of the valley. Look at what these firefighters are dealing with at any given moment. How about animals and wildlife in the area?

Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be any evidence Mother Nature is going to let up anytime in the immediate future. According to the National Weather Service, both Saturday and Sunday, August 22 and 23, will continue to hover around the 100-degree mark.

While I have no desire to get anyone's hopes up, I would like to share what the National Weather Service has to say about the early part of next week. According to the NWS official site, Tuesday offers "A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. Sunny and hot, with a high near 97." Both Wednesday night and Thursday offer a similar chance for showers and slightly cooler temperatures.

Thank you to the firefighter responsible for creating this video and allowing us to see what fire crews are facing. On that note, thank you to all of the amazing firefighters who are working every moment to ensure our safety.
